Helping Attitude to the Helpless
Helping others is an inborn quality. It develops more and more when someone is groomed in an environment where he or she sees his or her parents portraying the attitude of giving others what they need.
It is necessary that you have to be reach enough to help others. One can develop this habit from his childhood. By sharing his Tiffin in the school, offering his old books to someone who cannot afford to buy new ones. He can donate his old clothes to the poor and so on. Sometimes he can help a blind man or old man crossing a road. He can share the load of a person when he is unable to lift those.
When one completes his education he goes for a job or business when he earns and saves money. From his savings he can start donating to orphanage and other charitable organizations. Old homes destitute disabled persons according to his means. He should inspire others to join him in his endeavour for helping the unfortunates. This way one can form an associations of donors which in course of time can turn into an huge organization. My father Late Al haj M.A. Khalique took such an initiative in founding at Mirpur 12, DARUR RASAD MADRASA over 20 years ago where now over 400 poor students are studying with 330 permanent donors. It stared in a tin shade structure now it is a 4 storied building. There are many more such institutions like the Lions club International, The Rotary Club Oxfam, Grameen Bank, caritas, Concern international and many more foreign and local NGOs helping the helpless in different ways.

Attitude
Say for example you have nothing to give any material things to anybody. That’s not a problem. But don’t forget you have developed a huge store of experience and knowledge over the years. You can share those to peoples whom you care. You might be remembering that once a helpless man came to our prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM) PBUH for help. Our prophet gave him the idea of selling the only blanket he had and buy an axe and some food for that night. Prophet asked him to go to the jungle and cut woods with the axe and sell those in the market. That is how our prophet discouraged begging and helped peoples by giving the ideas to earn their livelihood with dignity. See a miracle will happen with your ideas people will start changing their lives. When they start making money they will care for you. You don’t need to run after money. It will come to you automatically. You just start developing the great concept of caring people by giving your knowledge and experience and then sharing wealth with them.
In today’s perplexed world most people don not like to share with others their wealth, experience, knowledge etc. This is because lack of self-confidence and trust on others.
From my boyhood I try to help peoples in whatever way I can. Some times I cannot help peoples directly but I try find someone who can help and send the needy to them with my recommendation.
I remember one of my boyhood habits to share food with others. if I don’t get any guest in my house I used to look for one repairer a beggar sand son. In.
Needs are much diversified. Some needs food, some needs shelter, some needs education, some needs medical treatment some needs happiness and so on. If you really want to cater the needs of people Allah will come forward with his power to strengthen your helping hands.
Dr. Md. Ibrahim the founder of Diabetic society is a glaring example helping the diabetic patients through founding an association of Diabetic patients. when he found that treatment of Diabetic patients are expensive and in most cased unaffordable by helpless. He encouraged them to get free treatment from a welfare fund of the society. Later he shared his idea with his associates for raising fund through public participation by way of conducing lottery. Huge public participation were received two decades ago because the public understood that even they don’t win the lottery it will act as a donation for charitable reason. The Diabetic association of Bangladesh is now not only limited to Diabetic patients but to all General patient also. Besides they have established IBRAHIM CARDIACE & RESEARCH INSTITUTE. On Last January the 22n I had a open heart surgery from Ibrahim cardiac and have started attending office from 20th February 2011. My hats off to such a person who have set examples of helping others and the nation in saving foreign exchange for such expensive treatment in home.
